Video Frame Extractor Online

Extract a still image from a browser-playable video at the exact timestamp you choose. Processing stays in your browser, then download the frame as JPG, PNG, or WebP.

Browser-decoded video only · up to 500 MB · no source upload

What this tool does

A video frame extractor turns one moment in a video into a still image. It is useful for a thumbnail, a reference image, a storyboard, or a keyframe for an iPhone Live Photo workflow. The source file is read by the browser and is not sent to a conversion server.

How to extract a frame

  1. Choose one video file and wait for the browser to read its metadata.
  2. Move the timestamp control to the moment you want to capture.
  3. Select JPG, PNG, or WebP, then capture and preview the frame.
  4. Download the still image or choose another timestamp.

Failure cases and test scope

If the video will not load

Try an H.264 MP4, a shorter clip, or another current browser. AVI and MKV containers may be selectable but still fail when the browser lacks the needed codec.

Output example

The result is one still image in the selected format. The preview reports its capture timestamp, pixel dimensions, and file size before download.

Browser support is determined by the device and codec at runtime. Desktop and mobile regression results will be recorded after the first production test cycle; no iPhone- specific compatibility claim is made here.
