How to Turn a Video into a Live Photo on iPhone
Create a Live Photo from any short video without installing a converter app, then set it as an animated Lock Screen wallpaper on iOS 17 or later.
Reviewed August 3, 2026. The browser export is an MOV + keyframe asset pair; physical iPhone verification of the final import is still pending.
Quick path (no app)
- Open the free online Video to Live Photo converter.
- Upload a short clip; the current iOS-oriented export is limited to 3 seconds.
- Convert in the browser and download the MOV plus JPEG keyframe.
- Transfer the assets to iPhone and complete the Live Photo import workflow.
- Open Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper → Photos → Live Photo, keep playback enabled, and tap Add.
Detailed without-app notes: convert video to Live Photo without app.
iPhone setup tips
- Use Photos, not Files, when setting wallpaper when possible.
- On the wallpaper preview, tap the Live (concentric circles) control.
