Why M4R?
iPhones only accept ringtones in Apple's .m4r format — an AAC audio file with a special extension — and Apple caps ringtones at 40 seconds. This tool re-encodes your audio to AAC, trims it to the section you choose, and names it .m4r so your iPhone recognizes it as a ringtone.
How to install the ringtone on your iPhone
- Download the .m4r file from this page.
- Connect the iPhone to your computer and open Finder (macOS) or iTunes (Windows).
- Drag the .m4r onto your device in the sidebar — it syncs instantly.
- On the iPhone, go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone and select it.
